DeinoMPI Forum

Hello and thanks for this great software. I'm searching something like this for over three days now and this is the first software which could be installed at least. :-)

I have the following problem. I installed this software on 2 machines and runned the GUI on one of them. On my XP Pro Notebook, it recognizes the installation, but if I want to check the XP Home Computer in the network, it says "DeinoMPI not installed".

I runned the GUI on the XP Home Computer as well and there it shows me on none of both computer any DeinoMPI. It is a little bit strange...

Any ideas?

It could be a firewall issue.  In order to run MPI applications across multiple machines you need to be able to establish TCP socket connections between the machines and most firewalls block these connections.  You will have better luck running jobs if you turn your firewalls off.

Thanks for your help. There was a firewall in the router which blocked some of the traffic between the computers.

Does anyone know here something about the R-PlugIn for MPI; called Rmpi? I tried to connect two computers via the DeinoMPI Interface, but failed until now. The mpi.spawn.Rslaves-Command doesn't search any computers on the network. At least I have no idea, how to make him do so.

Anyone knows anything about that?
